Bocce

bocce6.jpg

Bocce is a fun outdoor activity for everyone. It employs strategy and skill. It can be played individually or in teams. The objective is clear, and the basic skill is easy to develop.

Basically, the players try to get the red and green bocce balls closest to the pallino, which is the small white ball.

Bocce courts are located on the Resort Center campus and are open for play from 7:30 am until 10:00 pm daily. Bocce balls and scoreboards are stored in the closet behind the Resort Center pool restrooms. IslandWalk residents may reserve courts using the RMC court reservation system, subject to the established Sport Court Reservation Rules and Regulations. Open courts can be used on a first-come basis.

Only bocce is allowed to be played on the bocce ball courts. After evening play, players are required to turn off the court lights. There is no power to the lights after 10:00 pm.

The bocce ball courts have a Har-Tru clay surface. If required, players using the courts must brush and groom them after use in accordance with the guidelines provided by BAG.
